This is our original patent design and we have sold thousands of Arch Support Systems since 2006 to happy customers across the country. This product is made in the USA out of zinc plated steel with an aluminum bracket. The purpose of this invention is to keep your pontoon boat dry by creating a support system that arches the cover to shed off rain. The arch design is the best shape to keep rain out of the boat; our ancestors figured this out with the invention of the covered wagon. Because the cover is arched it will not rest on the seats, preventing "bleeding" into the boat fabric and will help protect the interior from getting bleached by the sun. Boat rails MUST be 1.25" square for this system to work, which is the most common pontoon rail size. The boat rail must be accessible from all sides. Please note that the boat cover, PVC pipe, electrical tape or pipe cutters are not included in this ad. If you have rails that are not 1.25" square or if the metal sheeting goes up to the railing, then we recommend our Universal Brackets. If your seat cushions butt up against the railing or go over it, we recommend our Dual Arch Brackets. You will need to provide your own PVC pipe and cut it to the dimension that works best for your boat model. I recommend gray electrical 3/4" schedule 40 PVC because it withstands heat better. PVC typically is less than .00 per 10' foot stick at most home improvement stores. Illustrated instructions are included, with directions for storing your boat for the winter. The fabric is marine polyester that is treated and sealed in multiple ways. Specifically, it is double polyurethane coated on the bottom, or down side, as well as UV protected and mildew protected. Polyester and acrylic are very similar for bimini tops. Polyester has a very rich color and holds up to UV exposure very well. As far as the support system/framework, it is made with 7/8" round tube anodized aluminum. Anodizing is just a process that increases corrosion resistance and wear resistance of a metal. Aluminum is the best metal for the framework of a bimini top. Then, it is treated to make it even better. The fittings and hardware are all heavy duty nylon and stainless steel(mounting screws hooks, and eye straps).

Instructions are included with the Vortex Bimini Top. Installation is very easy for anyone with even moderate handyman type skills. It is a very easy 2 person job, with very very basic hand tools. They are suitable for STORAGE, MOORING, AS WELL AS TRAILERING. The cover is made from marine grade polyester canvass. The cover is made from 7.8 oz/600d/600 denier solution dyed polyester. The fabric is then coated twice with polyurethane on the bottom or downside, UV protected, and mildew protected. What this all adds up to is the best cover available. It is nearly twice as thick as what you see readily available commercially. It is designed to keep water out, as it is WATERPROOF. Yet, water vapor can permeate it, so it will keep moisture out, but will not keep moisture in! 600d is an indirect measurement of density and weight. The higher the number, the heavier, thicker, and heavier duty. This is the thickest cover you will find. You will see a lot of 300d, even 150d covers, which are proportionally half as thick and 1/4 as thick as our covers. These are very waterproof. These will collect water. If you are going to use this for storage or in any condition on your boat where rain could collect on it, we would highly recommend some type of support system. Support systems are readily available online. It does not have to be anything incredibly complex..just enough to create and arch so it can shed rather than collect water. A very common and economical way to do this is to build a support system or 'skeleton' with pvc pipe. Grey electrical conduit works very well and is even less expensive. SPECIFICS FOR THIS COVER: This particular unit will fit a pontoon or deck boat with deck or playpen area between 17 ft and 20 ft AND A BEAM OF UP TO 96". It will accomodate up to a 96" beam, which is very standard for pontoon boats of this length.
